My wife planted some assorted wildflower seeds and several of these sprouted. They are a nice shape but have not bloomed yet. I tried PlantSnap but it could not identify it.

Do you have any suggestions for the plant and also for a plant ID app.

I would say that's an Asiatic lily.

IMO plant apps are no substitute for the human eye and experience.

Once you have a picture of a bloom, it will help immensely.

Check the back of the seed package to see what kind of plants were included. That will make it easier to identify what pops up.

I would be surprised if lily seeds were in the mix and if your wife planted the seeds in the last year, those would be really fast growing lilies.

I would be surprised, too, if lily seeds were in the mix. In addition, if this were a lily from seed, it would be 4-5 years old, and each year require a winter period when it would die back completely to the ground.

Whatever it is, it does do a good impression of a lily (Lilium).

The second pic has me doubting lily. I've never seen a stem look like that.

@Tomtom2, any chane of getting a better picture of the stem? Also, have you dug it up to see if it is attached to a bulb?

That was my other thought - its a lily bulb that was already in the garden. It looks like its going to bloom.
