I'm not a huge fan of Kniphofia typically but that variety is just gorgeous! I don't have space for it in my garden but I wish I did!

They are my favourite plants. Sadly we don't have hummingbirds in the UK. I also don't have a garden myself so can't grow them so I relish the opportunities to see them growing in public gardens.

I think this "Tawny King" is my very favourite one, the dark bronze stems and the subtle colour changes through the flower head are just stunning.

I think this is a really neat looking bloom, don't see that in our tropical climate, bet the hummers would love it, great photo! Thumbs up

Thanks Sherri, yes they are very popular with hummingbirds. When I did live in the US I was in Maine so most weren't hardy enough to grow there.

There are so many exciting new cultivars of Kniphofia, with lovely subtle colours and longer blooming season. A far cry from the old red and yellow "red hot poker".
