The blue poppy seedlings are ready to be transplanted into trays.
I am doing them in a winter south window.
Germination was good because the seeds were fresh from plants in my garden.
I have yet to get them all the way from seeds to flowers.
The seeds came from plants purchased in 2011 which flowered in 2012.
Also have some commercial seeds for the Lingholm variety---not great germination ,
but from about 50 seeds there will be about 12 plants.

Congratulations, Carolyn. Do you give them a cold strat period? I had a gardenweb friend from Nova Scotia who grew them, and I'm pretty sure she wintersowed them.

Good luck with them. Please post pictures when they bloom!

The seeds are kept in the 'frig,but these sprouts have not been in the cold.
I have tried WS , but with commercial seeds which are of questionable viability.
I should try a jug as WS from home collected seeds.

That would save babying the plants through a hardening off period.
