Hello!

Would you guys be able to identify these beautiful flowers? They're from a bouquet of flowers I got for my birthday a week ago and I would like to germinate the seeds that I collected from them.

Thanks!

1. Alstroemeria.
2. Alstroemeria.
3. Alstroemeria.
Many different colours.
Wonderful as a cut flower as they last for such a long time.
If kept cool it could last 4 weeks.

Hey Silversurfer!

Thanks for the genus name, but are you able to identify the species of each one?

Thanks!

Your bouquet came with seedpods? Interesting...

Florists probably use the tall Alstroemeria (4 ft. stems). There are short versions (6 to 12 inches) you can keep in a pot.

Probably cultivar...many named ones eg Apollo. et . See wiki.

In UK every supermarket sells them very cheaply as cut flowers. They come about 18" tall and tight buds that open.
However I have never seen them sold with seed capsules.
That would mean the flowers are over/dead.
