Grows fast and spreads like weeds in a sandy soil.

Does it make puffy white seed heads in the fall?

Thanks for the tip. will research. I have them sprouting everywhere on this vacant lot on very sandy soil. I tried to kill some and they are resilient like weeds. I'd like to transplant them around the perimeter if they will mature nicely as it looks easy to move them.

Hi , Thank you for your message. I'm 300 miles away and have been on site taking pictures about 4 times this year. Jan, April, August and a few weeks ago (early December). Can't recall, I have over 1000 pictures I will search and see if by chance i spot that. Almost think it does. Will post some more .

Your lot looks like scrub. I live in the woods adjacent to a nature preserve more north of you and we have this type of stuff all over the vacant areas, especially where the gopher tortoises live

Yes, we have gopher tortoises, rabbits and pigs in the area i've seen driving and hiking. No nests on my lot. I think I hear coyotes and have seen many tracks, but have never actually seen one. IMO, it's very natural and beautiful.

Any idea what it is? How big and thick it grows?

I don't. I only know I have it too. Its a native of some sort. I will search native FL plants and see if I can find it. The area it really grows in is under the big power line easement that runs 50 ft on each side of a new power line (actually an old power line that was updated) that goes back from just beyond my property and through MILES of the nature preserve. No one trims or cuts anything back there doe to state regulations for the preserve. They cut down any trees that were tall enough to threaten the power line when they updated it because it runs for over 30 miles through the county and supplies the main power to UF. All the low growing vegetation they leave alone
