zuzu, do you have any trouble with mildew on Super Dorothy? Do you take any special steps to prevent it?

Not a trace of mildew on Super Dorothy, Steve, although Dorothy Perkins suffered terribly from it almost every single year.

It's funny, I planted Super Dorothy when I lived in NJ. In six years it made two four foot long prostrate canes and bloomed for fifteen minutes once, making seven blossoms the size of a nickel. It was growing on poor soil and with some shade. Three feet away Sophy's Rose grew like topsy to five feet tall and three feet wide and put on a great show twice a year. I guess soil, weather, and moisture can all have profound effects on a rose.

Mine's grafted onto Multiflora rootstock, Steve. Maybe that makes a difference.
