Hi dnrevel,

This iris is not Iris sibirica. It appears to be a Dutch Iris cultivar. If you know the cultivar name, I can move the picture to the proper entry. If not, I can either move it to the general Iris entry or delete it. Please let me know which option you would prefer.

Thank you,

Kent

On closer look, yes, you are right. I was casting about for photos of my tons of Siberians that I have everywhere in the yard. Thanks for catching this. I tip my hat to you.

I will propose a proper change to the label to Dutch Iris (Iris x hollandica)
until I can find the label with the specific cultivar.

NOTE: This is the Dutch Iris (Iris x hollandica) ... If you know which cultivar, as I don't have a plant label handy), please feel free to comment.

Thanks.

Please note that most cultivars of "Siberian Iris" grown in gardens are the result of hybridization of several species of Iris (I. sibirica, I. sanguinea, I. typhifolia, and possibly others). As such, it's not appropriate to add pictures of unknown Siberian Iris cultivars to the Iris sibirica page. Pictures of unknown cultivars should be added to the general Iris page: Irises (Iris)

Very pretty and it looks a lot like Dutch Iris (Iris x hollandica 'Eye of the Tiger')
