This is the New Mexico Agave (Agave parryi subsp. neomexicana), It is a New Mexico native that grows wild on our property high in the hills at 6500 ft elevation. It grows in very rocky soil. It sulks when it's transplanted into better soil. Every year there are many new pups surrounding the mother plants in the wild. The ones I've transplanted are living, but not thriving or pupping.
Thanks, Kim. I've searched high and low and the only snowy agave pic I can find is this one. I'm not sure it's the correct one, but it is the same agave in the snow.

Awesome! too bad they don't like moving -- I'd like to try one of those!
But, every agave I have tried here dies after one winter or another...so I decided not to torture any more just to keep seeing that happen
The snowy agave provides some interesting texture to the landscape at a time of year when there may not be much else of interest in the garden. Nice picture, Karen!
