It's a Euonymus fortunei and not usually used as a houseplant here. How high is the humidity there at this time of year? It does well here where the humidity is fairly low in the summer and it's 90 - 110F. They go dormant in the winter, but might stay evergreen indoors. Give it bright to very bright light, keep it moist and watch for mites. A weekly wipe down with a wet paper towel should keep them under control.
