Can somebody tell me what kind of flowering plant this guy is and if its a flowering plant that will keep its foliage year round? I have a difficult time finding what flowering plants that which have flowers and may not bloom again still can be kept as regular plants. Too many people just trash certain plants because its seasonal but I KNOW there are plants that still can be kept and maintained with foliage. Any links or suggestions would be fantastic and appreciated. And what kind of plant is this....

Hyacinth? They are typically bulbs that people plant in the Fall and that bloom early, in late winter to early Spring and are fragrant. Or you can buy them at plant nurseries, florist stores or grocery stores. When done blooming, cut the spent blooms but let the leaves do their thing until they die out at the end of the growing season. Water them occasionally; do not let the soil become soggy. Potted hyacinths are sold as temporary plants for winter. I'm not sure how they do in your climate but they can be planted outside and the leaves will build up the bulb for flowering next year, then they will die back naturally in late Spring.

Use a bloom food on a regular basis so it can build up energy to bloom next year. I would recommend a water-soluble powder form at 1/2 strength on a weekly basis. Once it goes dormant keep it in a cool-ish place until September/October then plant it in the ground or start watering it again to grow it in the pot again. The flowers won't be as dense and compact as what it has now, but they'll still smell wonderful.
