Please identify this cactus, being grown by a friend. I think it's an unusual specimen.

It looks like a Grizzlybear Pricklypear (Opuntia polyacantha var. erinacea) native to the Southwest US. I'm not sure its rare but it is pretty. Depending upon where its from, the flowers are either bright yellow or hot pink.

That's a good I.D. It checks out! Thank you DaisyI.

There is not a lot of info about this plant on the Internet but I'm glad to be able to give my friend the name and basic info about this plant. I agree with DaisyI that it's pretty in its own way.
