I dug a cutting of this strange plant out of a friends yard in northern NSW, Australia last year. Haven't been able to identify it yet. Any help would be appreciated.

Can you post another photo of the stem?

Maybe Fiddleleaf Philodendron (Philodendron Bipennifolium)?
