Most likely a bonplandii hybrid, which is often confused with jenmanii. There are a lot of hybrids out there now with these plants. That one is very nice!

It could be a jenmanii, as your friend suggested....there has been a literal explosion of jenmanii hybrids (many with bonplandii but also with other Pachyneuriums) that are producing some very beautiful leaf forms. I have a big very old A. bonplandii subsp. guayanum which was commonly being sold AS A. jenmanii back around 2007/8 when I bought it. Superficially when young they kind of look the same but once mature there is a noticeable difference in the leaf blade morphology. I actually bought mine as Jenmanii but it was later correctly identified as the bonplandii. Some of the jenmanii and bonplandii hybrids available now will just blow you away.
