It's pretty tough: thick plastic. Here's a photo of my favourite one—

When I was wrestling it with a heavy, wet load, it cracked where the lower part flares out to the flange where it bolts together. I cleaned it out and applied some patch compound and tape. Hope it holds, since this model is no longer available from Gardener's Supply.

This is the second steel axle tumbler I bought. Lasted two years. Now I roll it on the ground.

Actually, There are many types of tumblers in the market. But my choice is the IM4000. One of the most incredible features of the IM4000 is its high capacity of 37 gallons, which is equally divided into two chambers. The first chamber can be filled up and left to decay while the user can put new waste into the second chamber. Furthermore, it also provides a continuous supply of compost, and you won't be required to open and shut the chamber multiple times during composting.
Compost can be gained in as little as 2 weeks if the weather is sunny and the ingredients are right. The composter is designed such that its shape is octagonal, and this prevents the materials from sticking inside the barrel as they turn. However, assembly is difficult and complicated. In order to keep the oxygen flowing to all parts of the compost mixture, there are many holes across the assembly to let fresh air in.
Its assembly little complicated, but other good things are 37-gallon capacity, Dual chambers, and Great ventilation Prevents materials from sticking.

That's good to hear, $80 is not TOO high a price I guess.
Plant it and they will come.

There were rats in the house walls.

I set up a release place at an abandoned barn 5 miles from human beings--there was a creek nearby and I left them with a month's worth of food to give them time to get set up.

Hmmm....
