Hi Annie,
I have noticed a lot more woodpeckers, too, in the last few years. I love them! They are colorful and just fun to watch. All kinds of birds have been very active at my feeders as well. Have been refilling them often too. This Winter has been snowier than in past years, and I guess these poor creatures are having a harder time finding food.
We still have about 2 feet of snow on grassy surfaces. It's been cold, cloudy, and generally BLAH here in the Poconos. I'm trying to "Think Spring". I did find a stocked seed rack in a hardware store recently, so I bought some seeds to start inside. I picked up Heavenly Blue Morning Glory, Purple Coneflowers, and Moonflowers. I'll probably start them sometime in late March.
Not much else going on... but there's hope. The days are getting a bit longer every day and just 33 days until Spring! Just got to keep looking forward .... :-))
Take care,
Jane
