Shannon -- I should have a rose-colored historic for you this year! Maybe a purple/white. Maybe a two-tone purple. I'm digging up an old bed -- don't know what's where in there -- but some will bloom in the Spring and present themselves. Whatever I have, I have more than I need and will be happy to share.

I vote for #2 or #3 both are similar to my eye.
I look at one bloom and imagine it in a clump.
#1 will look like a grey neutral .This is just my eye.I dont judge by prizewinning potential or use a professional judges cafeteria.
I think of plants in a setting with other things in the garden.
#2 has a more defined difference in falls to standard color, and I would use it with many more "self" choices to show it off in a garden setting. It gives me more options.

Shannon,
I also will have several "historic" irises to get rid of this summer, some of them named, and others that I've either lost or never knew their names. I can send you pictures after bloom season to see if you are interested. Several are Dykes winners that I purchased in a rhizome sale from Mo Botanical Garden years ago.

One of my seedlings A105A-20. I will give you a couple of rhizomes of this and siblings this summer. I'll let you know when they are blooming this spring if you want to stop by again.
Here is a picture of a sibling A105A-01.

Very pretty, Dennis. That's my favorite color in an iris, what an iris should look like. Do you do orchids in Hawaii?

No, I just escape from the cold weather during the winter, although it hasn't been very "winter like" in KY this year. It is, however, welcome to have low to mid 80's during day and mid 60's overnite with nice ocean breezes and great vistas like shown below at sunset.
