Thread OP
The Beautiful Hudson Valley (Zone 6a)
My beautiful little lace leaf Japanese Maple had a hard winter. Two branches split away from the trunk from all the heavy snow we had. I'm afraid I'm going to have to cut the branches off.

Should I cut the branches off at an angle or straight, or does it not matter? Should I seal the cut, and if so with what?

Is there any chance a new branch will grow?
