Hi all -- This isn't exactly gardening . . . but I am hoping someone here can help. I am wanting to add a bat house. Was planning to mount it on the side of my house that faces east, as that is what I understand would be best. BUT . . . if I put it up towards the eaves, there are these 2 little roofs in the way. Will that interfere with them getting to it?



The other option is over to the right of this, next to the chimney. But it seems possible that predators could climb the chimney so not sure that is a good idea.



Thoughts?

Just saw this... good question! I'm trying to figure out best placement for a bat house also, but mine will probably be high up a tree... didn't consider the predator angle with that, though. Hmm.

I wouldn't think the 2 lower roofs would bother them. After all, they use tree hollows, whether or not the trees have a few lower branches, right?

I agree with Jill. I don't think those 2 little roofs will bother them one bit. After all, they can zoom through heavy forests with no problem. They have radar built in.
