Thread OP

Help me ID this disease please!
I recently tore up and got rid of most of my succulents because they all developed spots. Some are flesh-colored spots while others are reddish, depending on the plant. All of them are sunken and seem like they turn into scars.
The succulents were all thriving despite this but I feared it spreading to the other plants, mainly my huge established aloe veras.
I have looked all over and can no longer find the ID for this disease.
A while back I found it and it said that it was contagious but did not the affect the plant's vitality only aesthetically.
I would really like to ID it in order to know weather it is safe to plant in the same soil now that they're gone and to know if it's transmissible to non-succulents.
2 herbs were nearby and those developed a whitish diseases and I don't know if it's related to the same issue as the succulents.
TIA

I can't say the spots are problematic or not, but your plants would probably do better with stronger light and more airflow, if that is possible. The Aeonium in the first picture is stretching (stem elongating, big distance between successive leaves along the stem). Fungal issues tend to be associated with low light and stagnant air, to the extent that is relevant to your particular situation.

Welcome!

Can you tell us some more how you are growing these and where - inside/outside, cold/cool/warm winter climate... that might help us figure out.

It looks a lot like mechanical damage to me...
It is what it is!

The Aeoniums were all propagations so it was already long when I stuck it in the ground.
I would believe it could be mechanical from a hail storm if it were not that new growth would all eventually end up with the same spots after about a week. I snipped off new growth to propagate it and keep varieties in the future and so far none of those have developed the spots.
I will post additional pictures to show their location.
Some were overcrowded and we live in a windy area. I suspect it was the wind that spread the disease so quickly.
Most got full sun in the location they were in.

That perspective really helps. I can't help much then. We have a lot of onshore wind (and extreme offshore wind events during the winter) and I've always thought that if anything that is helpful for my succulents. Provided the wind is not whipping up debris and slamming it into your plants, I suppose.

Yea they were thriving with the wind and rain, it was hard to pull them out but I was worried for the rest of the garden.
I don't know if this would help, but I posted the pictures of the 2 herbs that were in the vicinity. I'm not sure if what they got is related to the succulents but is seems likely to me.
