It took a lot of encouragement from the helpful folks in the Sempervivum Forum, but I sure learned something fine! Planting in moss works wonderfully!

Now, I want to look for more fairies to *dress up*!

I've placed it right outside my south-facing picture window, so that I can look at it at any time.

Does it get snowed upon? When does your spring weather arrive Chelle?

It does get snow-covered, but with it getting house-reflected heat and sun it sheds it pretty fast.

I'd say that spring starts in late March here, but it felt like spring today. I actually set out a plate of fruit for some hungry honeybees.

Wow, the weather is still running on the odd side for most of us. Honey bees in Jan?

I think we've even hit single digits here already this winter; you'd think those bees would be bunkered up tight.

Wonder where their hive is?
We used to put out bee food by the hives in winter, so they wouldn't have to go far from the hive.

I'm guessing it's one of the hives set out about a quarter of a mile from here. They usually gather up all but one or two in late fall.
I'm guessing that they leave those for stray bees (??); ones that aren't in the hives when they come out to pick them up.

I don't think they can go into another hive, just their home hive.
