If you live where Japanese beetles are a problem, do they prefer your clematis? Any varieties they seem to prefer over others? I'm reading conflicting information! Thanks!

I haven't seen Japanese Beetles on my few clematis at all. Though my biggest one is in a sheltered place in the yard, so that might make a difference. Dawn Redwood, Flowering Cherries, Grapes, and misc others have been favorites of the beetles, though.

Specializing in a full spectrum variety of trees and shrubs, occasionally with perennials as an incidental bonus.

I have never seen them on any of my clematis, however it seems like they collect on whatever the scout beetles first start on and the rest follow.
