Hi all
I have started to see some weird decay on my plants leaves. Its happening on too many at once for it to be a coincidence. I did spot what looked like root mealy bugs crawling around in the trays a couple of weeks ago. I treated with a systemic a week ago. Could this be a reaction to the treatment or something else.
Any one seem anything like this this before. I have Isopropyl alcohol i could rub on the area, but i am hesitant to do too many things at once until i understand what i am dealing with .
thanks for any help Thumbs up
Steve

It looks mechanical - and too big for mealy bugs. Are these in reach of any of your four footed family members?

Hi
I should of mentioned sorry that it starts like pic three but I have be scraping at it to reveal the damage underneath .

If my two tearaways had been anywhere near the plants would be broken, the pots would be on the floor and my Ray bans and credit cards would be missing with reports of two suspicious customers currently bulk buying sausages at the local supermarket Smiling

Hi Steve,

Ah, OK, that makes the 'mechanical' part of it the look really obvious.
I suspect you do not have a humidity gauge in the room you keep your plants in?

I get some 'rot' spots on some of my Aloes when it has been particularly humid and cool. (I would not call it cold) It is usually just a spot here and there that are ugly, but never go furhther than that because especially the last few years the periods of high humidity never last very long here.
It is what it is!

thanks
@mcvansoest
thanks , its a possibility . My plants are under the artificial lights for the first time over winter and because they are continuing to grow i have felt the need to water. That being said there is not a lot of air movement in the room because opening the window would let cold air in . I am thinking now that all the water in the pots in one small place could let off a lot of moisture after watering.. it did not look like aloe mite to me, which is good because i fear the day i bring it into my collection.
thanks
Steve
