Wow, they are beautiful. I had never heard of them and suspect you are correct, they might not like our hot nights but might be fun to try.

I was thinking of keeping them in the GH for the cooler months (or even outside) and in the house in the dog days of summer

They are epiphytic and kind of resemble an ant plant with a caudex when older...but they get like a shrub

I wonder how fast they grow, the prices I saw online did not seem unreasonable. I have never seen them in the Southeast but I think you should try one.

Andy's orchids in CA is having their annual March 20% off sale and had an orchid I wanted . They have 3 species of Agapetes, I picked the one that has the widest temp toleration range LOL 'Red Flare' and just ordered it

I will! I have actually looked at them on Andy's for a long time and thought...nah....probably something that would melt in the heat here
