When I'm on my plant list "as others see it", it shows I have 19 plants that I want, which is correct. But when I access my list control panel and click on my want list under categories on the right hand side, only 2 plants show up. How can I see the rest of them?

Chris,

It looks to me like once you add them to another category they don't show up in the general "want" list for you. They show up instead as "wants" in that particular category.

As well as putting a plant in its plant category, the category called "Want List" has to checked for the plants to appear there as well. Does that make sense?

Probably too vague. Go to your plant list, check the general "Want" box to bring up the list of plants you want. Open the plant, go to where it says "in your list" and click on that. Then you will see a place to check off the categories you have designated and can check the "Want List" category there.

There is probably a less round-about way to do it, but I am used to that so that's what I do. Green Grin!

Now I want to be able to print the list Hilarious!

Funny, I was just going to ask for that too Marilyn! I had just suggested adding a printable version of our Garden Planting Calendar and he just added that and now I am working in my Have lists, which I would like to print out and add to binder for further notes.

I can add a print-friendly version of the external view of your list. How would that work?

Not sure I understand what you mean when you Say "external" view but if it looks like what is on the screen then that would be great.

Thanks Dave. I tip my hat to you. I tip my hat to you.

I assume it's the one viewable by other members, not your internal member only editing one. Shrug!

Sue is right.

I've added this. To access it, go to your profile and then click on your plant list.

Then you will see a printer icon on the top-right of the page. Click that to get a printer friendly view.

You can also customize the view first. Select a category first or choose to view only "Have" or "Want". Then when the screen changes, click the print icon.

One more thing,

When I want to see my wants lists I have to click on the master tab at top of list then find my name in the list of people with a list ......

When I go to manage my lists it does not allow me to find the Want -- have -- whatever display

It would be nice to see that in either manner. See Dave we are never satisfied. Whistling

Give us an inch and we want a mile.

Thanks for whatever you can do on this one.

I think I understand, in your manage mode, you want something like it at the top of your public display of your lists, where you check off the View only: Have or Want? Why can't you just use it from that public page?

Sue, you are right, I can now that I know it is there.. Blinking

I guess I am a slow learner, but it has been almost a year and I just found it, by finding this page on the site talk forum.

I just thought if he could add a link on the manage page it would be a bit faster and easier for a newbie. (and me) Hilarious!

>> the one viewable by other members, not your internal member only editing one.

Oh! I never knew the two were different!

By the way, whenever I view my plant lists or someone else's, each plant takes up 3-4 lines, usually because the "Status" field takes 3-4 lines. In the public view, the photo takes up even more room.

Is there any way we can change column widths, or hide columns, so that we can see or print more compactly - ideally one plant on one line?

I tried to copy-past rows from the public view into a table in a document file, where I could delete and re-size columns. However, in my browser, I can only highlight one screen-full at a time. That does allow me to paste a "table" into documents like Open Office.

Being able to "select whole table" with a few clicks would also be great, because then I could paste it into an Open 0ffice or other editing programs. I've tested this a few rows at a tim e and it would serve the purpose.

Being able to export a category of a plant list as a tab-separated textfile would be really cool!

Hmm, if that export could pull check-boxes and comments from the Plant Databse, or LINKS, that would also be cool, and filterable and sortable and searchable.

Also, if I filtered and extracted some of the rows, and sent those to someone else, the ATP links into the Plant DBF would follow along ...
