Might be, but I would have to see the bottle. Can you post a pic? Thanks Elaine. How does that work for inducing root growth on Philodendrons & other aroids?

I haven't tried it as a root stimulant, Noel. I use the Quick Start for transplanting. Only use the Superthrive on my orchids as a foliar spray, but it says on the label you can use it as a rooting/ transplanting solution. It has hormones and vitamins but no fertilizer. It's also very expensive - as you can see the bottle is quite small, 4fl.oz. But it's very concentrated so you only use a little. It's one of those things that you really don't know if it's doing a thing, but once you start using it and your plants are successful you're afraid to stop.

Other than the huge ones already in my landscape, and some Caladiums, I have only started with Aroids a year ago. My only Colocasia 'Blue Hawaii' - new last year - has so many pups now, I don't know how I'm going to pry him out of his pot! Maybe when I do, I'll try the Superthrive on them. But it sure doesn't seem like they need any help.

That is what I thought it was. I used to use it with my aquariums for tropical aquatic plants. I also used a rose bloom food (0/10/10) with it for good plant growth. worked like a charm, & the nitrogen from the fish was more than enough for the plants. I also used this mix later for a tropical plant system connected to my aquariums making use of the aquarium water on a daily basis...I pumped water from the aquarium for an hour a day. Plants loved the warm, rich water, & thrived well in an artificial bio medium. I forget what it was. I think some sort of perlite.

Anyway that superthrive causes aroids to produce roots quite quickly, but you do not need to keep using it. I used it until my plants took hold off cuttings or recovered from shock. After that, I just used a normal feeding schedule. Thanks for the photos of the bottle. I actually found something here in Tulcan , Ecuador that seems to be working. Nothing with hormones for rooting is available in Tumaco Sad
