Thread OP

I got 2 sets of bumps on my neck about 9 days ago. I felt the bumps when I woke up and immediately thought I have bed bugs. Linear pattern, and a cluster pattern, small red dots, swelling. I've been spraying my mattress and bedding with isopropyl alcohol every other day since. I've had no new bites or bumps since.

What's odd is I live by myself. I don't go into other people's houses. I haven't had guests over since the pandemic. I work for myself in construction. I pretty much live a solitary life. So I'm not sure how I would have gotten bed bugs. Now I'm doubting these are bedbugs.

I have no red spotting on my mattress or bedding.

Any thoughts?

They don't look like bed bug bites to me, but I've never seen bites like that. Do you have any small roaming spiders?

The general area where you live might give a clue. We have lots of brown recluse spiders around here, central IL . Black widows can be found here as well.

I'm guessing some kind of spider. They are known to crawl around while we're sleeping. Blinking Spiders will leave two pierce marks when they bite and can bite multiple times. Does it itch? It looks scabbed over like you have been scratching it.

Welcome to the site and to the forum!

Looks like spider bites to me. If it gets any worse, I would definitely suggest seeing a doctor.

Welcome! I agree Looks like spider bites. We use rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball to stop the itching. Don't scratch, that will only aggravate the itching and possibly break the skin, making it worse (I always have to tell my husband that Rolling my eyes. ).

Anybody know what this could be? My mom had three bumps near her armpit a week or so ago that has spread across the area and are now around a mole that just appeared this morning. She says it itches and is very painful, and feels like there is something biting her from inside.

If it gets worse, seek in person medical attention.
Any opinion offered here is questionable- even mine- some will say get attention right away.
Plant it and they will come.

Woke up with this bite on my wrist, worried this could have been a tick.. it's not itchy but pretty red. Anyone else had something similar?

Most likely not a tick. Once a tick bites you, it stays attached to you for about 24hours. Looks like a mosquito bite to me. Sometimes you get a really big mosquito that bites you and causes a big red spot like that.

However, if it gets any worse, or especially if it begins to change color, get to the doctor immediately.

Hey there, and welcome!

I have no idea what bit you, but it looks like it's only going to get worse, and much worse at that. I'd strongly recommend getting to a doctor ASAP.

Make sure to keep us posted, because now I'm also really interested to know what bit you.

I agree you probably want to see a doctor. Brown recluse spiders can cause tissue to die which may explain your condition...

Go sooner, not later to a dr or hospital. Showed pics to a derm friend, she said probably spider, last photo looks like some necropsy.
