I came across this post while looking for something else & decided to give an update. The blue containers held up & I'll be using them again this year. I also bought more of them & hope to get even more. I have only found them at one dollar store & they usually only have 6 or so. We got a lot of really small potatoes. Like marble size. But also lots of good sized ones. I think a mistake I made was putting too many in each container. The ones that did the best only had one or two. Another mistake I made was waiting too long to add more soil as the plants grew. When it was time to harvest, I spread out a couple shower curtains & dumped the buckets onto them. Once the potatoes were picked out, I scooped up the dirt & put back in the buckets.
