I found some type of tree or shrub in a container with my dragon fruit. I was wondering if someone could id it? It reminds me of a pecan seedling but I'm not sure. Thanks

The leaf shape is more rounded than those of Pecan seedlings which I have found .. but young leaves are not always like mature ones.

What trees do you have nearby? Any Carpinus caroliniana?

I think I've seen a few Carpinus nearby and at a local park. I thought they were some type of elm at first. There are several hackberry and pecan trees in this area too. Thanks so much for identifying it. I'll just pull it up before it gets any bigger.
