I'll move this over to the Plant ID Forum where it will get more views and a possible ID. It reminds me of Rhododendron but that's only a wild guess.

Looks like an Azalea.

Possibly one of the Encore Azaleas, like
Azalea (
Rhododendron
Encore® Autumn Fire™)
We don't currently have photos in our database but it's one that has deep green and bronzy-red leaves with red blooms.

Definitely a dwarf form of azalea. I've had them in the past. Post when in full bloom & we may know color name.

I see what appears to be a yellow plant tag in your photo; was there no information on the tag??

I also think it's azalea and the right time of year to see them coming into bloom in your area.
Keep the tag or take photos of the plant with the tag clearly displayed (in case you want more).

Thank you all for the information. The yellow tag is blank and this is a gift so I had no idea. Now I know it I will plant in in the back yard.
