when I could easily sit down on the porch floor, lean back against a metal panel behind me, and watch fern fronds unfurl for hours. There is something so mysterious about them and, concomitantly, so pleasing.
But my duplex neighbor and friend has a slight bite to her sense of humor... and I can picture her coming to her door, looking down, and saying, "Laying there watching fern fronds unfurl again, are we?"
And no, this is not the neighbor who said, "Well the ferns come up... and that's it! Not very exciting when you think about it!!" That was another neighbor.
I'm surrounded by people who find ferns boring... and petunias exciting."
