I gave my sister some Yumi buds last year and she said they last for a long time inside the house, so maybe I'll cut some next year.

Thank you so much for the above information, LG! I am surprised that she advised to cut at the hard stage rather than the marshmallow stage. Would the doubles open properly when cut at this stage?

Thanks for the acorn, Karen. She mentioned that she brought the stems out of the cooler on Thursday for a Saturday wedding. When she said hard bud, she showed a photo of a bud with just a little color showing. She's been doing this for many years, so I'm sure most open.

THanks, that is great to know! I have not done this so I will cut more buds at this stage next year. Those that I waited to cut at the marshmallow stage opened too much to be able to store for long in fridge.

The peony disease presentation was really good. There were lots of pictures. My biggest takeaway from it was a need to be more vigilant about removing diseased plant material as soon as I spot it. They did record it, so maybe it will be available on the APS website in the future.

The final presentation will be Monday July 26 at 10 AM. CDT on growing peonies from seeds.
