True that! I am just trying to figure out this next bed - I know where it will be, just not sure if it will be all TB's. or have daylilies at one end and iris at the other.... I am leaning toward all iris, because this west side of my garage tends to be 'drier'. Then I have to decide if it will be a circular shape or oval....

But Tom, spring has to come first - I need to put away my snow shovel and find my spade!

I can't afford the newest ones - but eventually I will want Shouting Match and Wisecrack and Fancy Ideas and Volcanic Glow and...

But I have been patiently waiting for Class Ring to come down in price, and it has so that is on my list. Reckless Abandon, Prince of Hearts and Flame Amber are also on my short list. Of course, there is also about a dozen others!

By the way, I planted Tuscan Summer in 2011 - and it was beautiful last year.Thumb of 2013-02-03/philljm/2ee6d2

I may order more from Keith, but want to get the Mid America catalog and Ghio then will have the final decision.

I wish Burseen's print was larger as I have to get the magnifying glass out to read any of it. Old eyes you know.

Recless Abandon has to be one of my top 5. I really like it. By next year I should have a few to share, but not quite this summer. I have ordered Adoranova, Avenue of Dreams, Sweet Kisses, Tempo Rouge, Make Mine Magic and Samarkand Road from Australia. They should arrive in April. I might have to order a few more of Blyths new ones from Keppel. I haven't made up my mind what new Keppels I will order, But I'm sure there's a couple that will make the list. And then there's Paul Blacks new ones, and all the rest. Oh my I better start making my "cut list" to make some space. I ordered some from Dee too this year, had to have one of her new MDB's (Just Sassy) and a few others, 10 all together. Her prices are very competative. I hope the weather breaks before the other catalogs come, or there's no saying what I might do! Shrug!
Recless Abandon, just in case you forgot how nice it is!!!

That's quite a line-up, Tom -- how exciting for you!! I look through the Tempo Two catalog at least once a week, and find new favorites each time. I am especially taken with Ruby Royal! Lovey dubby

I sent my Keppel order off yesterday......only 2, Captain Thunderbolt and Friendly Advice. I planted over 60 new to my garden last year so I am out of room. Maybe I'll get a few from Mid-America. I'll eliminate a few this summer for more room next year. No new beds!!!!!!!

Mary Ann, I like Ruby Royal too, I added it as one of the possibles if substitutions were needed. Paul, remember that "grass is over rated" Rolling on the floor laughing I like Captain Thunderbold too. Maybe you will have some seedlings that don't pan out and will give you some space.

Well last year either lining out, composting or introducing I thinned my seedlings from 15 160' rows to 6 now....did something with all the 2002 to 2006 seedlings. By now I figured out I needed to thin out and not keep, have tons of room luckily but tried of weeding feeding etc.

Jan, hint here. Mr. Keppel, and Dee especially (that I know of), and some of the other vendors, when you order their new intros send way more than that amt. in bonuses. It's truly amazing. And the bonuses are the newer ones also. So, if you're going to spend money, get them now, rather than wait for the price to come down, IMHO.

And imagine the trading power some of the new ones will give you.

I just got my catalogue today. I was beginning to worry. He ran out of some I wanted last year.

Jan, my experience has been that when I order a new intro most of the hybridizers, and especially Keith, Joe Ghio and Mid-America, usually send another new intro as a bonus plant -- and Keith Keppel welcomes a "wish list" for gift plants; so if you send him a pretty large wish list for a bonus plant you're almost sure to get one or more of them. He's very generous, and of course the larger the order the more gift plants. So if you order one intro and list two or three or more others that you really want, hopefully you'll get one more new intro that you really want as a bonus -- which reduces the price by half for each of them if you choose to figure it that way...

And of course I like that way of figuring/justifying my $$ spent! nodding

I know I too encourage people who order to send a wish list and now that I am introducing more iris the more intro's people are receiving

OK, help me here - you enablers here have had me review (for the hundreth time) my order before I place it tomorrow - I can only afford one - Volcanic Glow or Shouting Match?

I love the ruffles and the edging on Volcanic Glow, but Shouting Match is a ML - and I am trying to extend my season. ~Jan

I vote for SHOUTING MATCH -- and then you can list VOLCANIC GLOW as a suggested bonus plant. He might not have enough rhizomes, however, to include it as a bonus with your order, so you could list some others you really want too but indicate you really really want VOLCANIC GLOW.

Just a suggestion...

I just received the Schreiner's mini catalogue yesterday. I thought it was much smaller than last years and the web site only has about 1/3 the offerings of last year. I think I'll wait for the summer sales catalogue this year before I order. I've always had beautiful, huge iris from them though.
