A little cardinal found it's way into our (dirty) outside aviary. IDK how long he had been there? It took him awhile to find his way out. Enjoy the pictures.

I'm so glad he found his way out. Cardinals are one of the birds that are commonly sold here in cages, I hate seeing them all lined up in their little parakeet cages. They aren't the smartest bird though, if you release one it will go back to the free seed and the trap that it was caught in the last time.

I'm happy your pretty little Cardinal found it's way out too. Personally I do not like to see any bird caged. Sad

Oh, I would have let him out. I have closed the door so another can't get in. That aviary is reserved for my own parrots. I don't think they would think to kindly to have a wild bird in their midst.---Jonna, do people actually keep cardinals as pets there??

Yes, unfortunately. I don't know that I would call them pets but they keep them in cages in the garden. They are pretty and colorful but they belong in the wild. I find it sad.
