GOLDEN CHALICE HYBRIDS This lovely strain was developed from various Chinese species. They are upright growers and their colors, which are much improved, are clearer and brighter than the muddy oranges and orange-reds of the earlier kinds. Ranging from the beauty of clear, lemon-yellow through the richness of warm gold and apricot-orange shades, these Golden Chalice hybrids are a most desirable addition to any garden. Plants grow up to three feet in height and are exceptionally vigorous. They produce their bright flowers in May and each is an entrancing beauty 4 or more inches across. Plant them in a warm, sunny location in well drained soil and about 6 inches deep. Golden Chalice hybrids are extremely drought-resistant, and ideally suited for any warm, dry spot in the garden or border. There they will flower with a minimum of care... and give great pleasure.
