I managed to keep a lonely little geranium alive in an outside pot, by keep it against the west side of the house. It helped our winter wasn't bone-chillin' and on a few nights I did bring it in. Otherwise, it's flowering now and going on year two!

The added enjoyment this year must feel like a great bonus. : + ) Another thing I love about these particular plants is the wonderful herbal scent when snapping off the old bloom stalks when they are finished.

Geraniums: I've had success overwintering geranimums by cutting off most of their stems, and crowding remaining roots into a hospital wash basin, with a bit of dirt, and keeping them damp all winter in a cool place in the house. Most survived. I also have just replanted them inside and have enjoyed their lovely blooms all winter.'
