Has anyone tried one of these?

Well, since you asked...........I bought one of these 3 years ago. https://www.songbirdgarden.com.... It works OK, but doesn't have a lot of force. But it's cute and doesn't seem to scare away the birds. It's in my shadier garden but mine kept floating to the shady side of the birdbath and would stop squirting. Also when water evaporates out of your birdbath, fountain will stick on the bottom. Kept having to walk out and top off water to keep it floating. But with adequate water level and full sun on the flat surface of the 'fountain' it works as advertised. Three years later, it is now down at our cabin birdbath an hour south of where we live, where the birdbath is in FULL sun until late in the evening.

I was looking for a solar-powered pump to put a live water feature in a mini garden, a water wheel & little stream, but got confused about the size/amount of power that would be appropriate for that, and ended up looking at these fountains/bubblers for bird fountains... which seems more worthwhile since it would contribute a benefit to birds and not be just me looking at the mini garden.

I got a cheap one at Harbor freight some years ago. (9$?) It worked but only when the sun shone on the panel, (of course lol) and the spray was variable with a couple attachments. I forgot why I stopped trying to use it.

Thank you! Yes, I would expect it to only work when the sun is shining on it. The spray was the biggest complaint in the review of various ones, that the spray was not adjustable, hard to adjust, too high, too low...
