OK, now for some flare! This is my Cinco de Mayo I just picked up. This thing is just OOZING with buds. I'm not going to prune it until after this weekend as we're supposed to get one last snow storm and I don't want to put it through too much stress. But, that's a lovely excuse not to cut off all this potential!

Here's my newest Charles Joly lilac. I *LOVE* this lilac! I got this lilac earlier this spring, and then my puppy decided that she wanted to dig it out. So, I put a dinky fence around it to just stave her off of digging it out until she learns what's not to dig and what is OK to dig. :)

OK, last picture for this parade. I believed that my Gingersnap didn't make it through the winter, so I got another one. It had a ton of blooms on it, but I cut most of them off when I put it in the ground. In fact, one of the canes I cut, I cut 2' off. I then put some of that "Take Root" hormone powder stuff & shoved it in a bucket w/soil in it. Maybe it'll take root?

This is so exciting, and Molineux doesn't look dead to me at all. Dead roses aren't green. It looks fine! Too bad it's an own-root rose. It'll take a long time to get big.

I can't wait till next year to see Dappled Dawn. It sounds delicious!

I sympathize with your impatience for spring and blooms! None of mine are blooming yet, but I have some little buds. The aphids are here already, funny how they show up before the blooms.

I agree that your rose looks alive, dead ones are dark brown, the first thing I learned about roses.
