I needed a quick, easy, and cheap way to cover my small blueberry bushes to keep them safe from birds. Big rolls of netting and such are annoying to work with. The "bag" type for trees and bushes aren't cheap (not expensive but I've spent my gardening budget for the year). Turns out that mosquito nets for hats work well. You can cinch them tight around the pot. I believe they'd work well for other things too.

You don't kick walls down, you pull the nails out and let them fall.

I made these plant protectors a few years ago out of some half inch wire mesh that I covered with greenhouse plastic film and topped with shade cloth. I pin it down over young veg plants. It protects from birds, etc. and let's raindrops through. A bit of warmth at night too.
