They've changed the page.. before, this morning, everything was out of stock. They probably finally just updated their website to reflect the stuff that's available now.

Now I get it!
When I typed in the search box for a Salvia they offer, I got plants with 'out of stock'.
But I have clicked onto a plant "order box" and it goes in on my shopping cart. I did try to order more than one of a Salvia, but it stated there wasn't enough for me to have two.

I just posted this today (recommendations feature on American Meadows regarding HCG). Read it on the Garden Watchdog on DG.
I just read today that American Meadows owns High Country Gardens. This is what I read....
In 2013, High Country Gardens is celebrating its 20th anniversary under new ownership. High Country is now owned by American Meadows, similar to High Country Gardens, a leader in direct-to-consumer gardening products. David Salman, High Country's founder, will continue as Chief Horticulturist and be focused on developing the innovative, eco-friendly and waterwise perennials that the brand is known for. Thank you for all of your loyalty and support.

I've hoping that all the great service, plants and organic products that I've been getting from HCG since Spring 2005 will continue under the new ownership. HCG is in NM and AM is in VT. Hopefully, things will run smooth especially since they're so far apart.
I just posted elsewhere that my credit card had American Meadows on it instead of High Country Gardens and I was NOT HAPPY.. Years ago I bought plants from Wesley Farms and I received all mushy rotten plants. Wesley changed its name to American Meadows and I definitely stayed away from them. Have I bought from the same awful outfit again???!!!

This would explain why all their websites for the local stores are down & I can't get anyone on the phone. I don't want to drive out of my way when I go through Santa Fe if they're not open...

Just as it is happening with airlines and food companies, mail order nurseries are consolidating into businesses focused on promotion rather than horticulture. We may be in the last days (years really) of small, family run operations. Scale brings with it cost savings that can be substantial, but all too often in this business also brings a different level of quality as far as the plants are concerned. He says, putting on his preaching hat: As consumers we need to be very careful these days, as the old companies we knew and loved are changed into something very different. This is the third mail order nursery in the last year that I am aware of that has changed management.

Teri,
I hadn't placed an order with the 'new' HCG yet and don't know when I will, but please let us know what the plants look like when you get them and how they grow and how they were packed/shipped. Did you order from HCG before, to know how to compare?
I've never ordered from them before and won't be getting any of the plants til mid May, but I'll try to remember to let you know the condition that they arrive in.
