We have a wonderful co op going on on facebook, sometimes other plants are sold, but hostas are on for the block for buying right now.
You have to be added to the group and then you can choose from what's available. This is a buying
co-op, you have to place an order to remain in the group.

@kabby

These are from Green Hill Nursery (Bob Solberg)

There's also hellebores co-op (Walter's Gardens) that's going to wrap up this weekend. Thumbs up

@Rose1656 yes I know! He hybridizes some beautiful plants, I'm so glad to have this option available. Also profesora has many gorgeous hostas of which I happily spend my money. I pretty much get plants from her every year. There are huge!

Thanks for the heads up- I just requested to join the group.

@rose1656

Am I too late on the Hellebores buy?

How do you guys find out about these groups? I don't really use Facebook. Shrug!

@brozeus, Jim they haven't said on the hellebore thread that this one is closed yet. Seems like a lot are available, many people over bought to fill trays. You are welcome to try.
Rose has been on the co-op much longer than me. I can't remember if someone referred me there or if I found it on my own. Shrug!

My request to join the group is still pending on FB but hopefully it's approved soon!

Are you saying that same FB group is also arranging the Hellebore buy or are you referring to a Hellebore thread here on garden.org?

Cheers!

Yes the FB group couldn't get enough people to buy the hellobores so that particular one was cancelled. The hostas have come to an end and we are just waiting for the invoices so we can pay.

I have a friend that asked to join and still hasn't been accepted or denied. I know the admin is having some health issues right now, so that could be the problem.

Ohh that is too bad.

Yes, I'm sure that explains the delay. I just didn't know if my submission went through since I don't normally use Facebook.

I will just be patient and in the meantime continue to enjoy the beauty of summer gardening! Hurray!

This is the first co op that I have been to in about 2-3 yrs. It was pretty much shut down during Covid and our administrator has had health problems. I wish I had gotten in on the Walters offerings, but I was too late. I'm tempted to have another go around with profesora's hostas.

Did you see the post offering some Walter's hosta that a person backed out of? It was posted the day before yesterday.

Guess at some point I might have to join the dreaded facebook , I have not done a co-op since Cubits. I do miss some of the old Cubits groups.

@kabby,

Rosalinda told me that those are sold, but you can place an order from Pam's extra list that she always orders.

Thanks Rose, I couldn't make it work this time but I'll have a chance again I'm sure. Smiling
Bob, Rj, Facebook has slacked off for me. It is a wonderful tool for finding high school friends, reconnecting. It has plant people too! Hosta, daylily, brugs, seed trading, lilies, gingers are all some of the ones I've visited. I'm sure there are others that are extolling the virtues of FB to y'all too. It's nice connecting with NGA members there also!
Loretta I hope you give the co op another try next spring when the hostas are offered again. Thumbs up

I'm still in limbo too. I don't really see the harm in leaving my request. I hope at some point the admin (Rosalinda?) will have a chance to review the pending requests.

Not a FB person either. Deactivated my account shortly after college, back in 2007.

@kabby do you have any advice on how to find quality plant groups? I've never really done the FB groups thing. The hosta co-op was my first attempt at a group. I do enjoy trading with fellow NGA members.

I might have had my fill of coops. I didn't find I really saved money in the long run since the plugs had a lower survival rate. They were fun though. Still, I may try again.
