Would you would be interested in attending a plant swap? 5/14 seems like the first Saturday that's not too early - or Mother's day weekend.
Niceville seems like a central location for the panhandle area, within 2 hours of most of the panhandle, except maybe Mobile, depending on traffic, up to and including Brewton, Andalusia, Enterprise, almost Dothan, in AL.
This park looks like it would be a handy place to have it, with restrooms, mostly shady conditions, a beautiful pavilion with picnic tables for those who want to bring a cooler of snacks, and the creek looks so inviting! I think my family would want to come along and put a kayak & innertube in there.

A lot of great pics on Google. It looks like the parking is mostly shady too.
The plants could be houseplants, perennials, sprouted seedlings, rooted cuttings, seeds, freshly picked produce, home-canned (but actually in jars -what is up with that?) goods, whatever one has in abundance.
Plant/garden items could also be swapped, like that 5th pair of gloves you've been given even though you only wear an old pair of leather ones, leftover items from a DIY project, a nice pot that clashes with the rest of your dรฉcor, a tool or other plant-related item you bought but has never come in handy, books about flowers and plants, outdoor dรฉcor, bird feeders. Also a great opportunity to share a stack of nursery pots you don't want but can't throw away. There's always somebody who will want them @ a swap.
I'm thinking if the actual swap happened around 10:30, people could disburse by about 11 AM for lunch on site, elsewhere, or whatever they had planned for the day.
The ones I've been to before, each person puts what they brought in a group, everyone draws a number, and whoever has number 1 starts by choosing 1 plant, then person 2 chooses 1 plant, etc... until each person has chosen their first plant. Then person 1 chooses their second plant, through a few rounds until some people's groups have all been taken, then it's just kind of folks giving away & exchanging what's left.
With this much time to plan, I think it could be really great, and give everyone a lot of time to prepare some things. I'll commit to bringing a cooler of ice cold bottled waters, and calling the park to make sure there is not some event that would prevent having a swap on the date. Who would be interested? Suggested tweaks to the proposed ideas?
