Thread OP

Hi all,
Hoping you can help. I'm new to houseplants and I have a majesty palm and a money tree that both have very tiny black/silver bugs that move quickly throughout the soil. Mostly seen after watering. I feel they may be springtails, but one that I recently caught looked like it might have wings so I want to rule out anything that may be more of an issue. I've attached a couple images taken the best I could, one on my finger for scale. Thank you!

It looks like a Fungus gnat but I could be wrong: double check against some pictures when you have one to compare.
If they are buy a product named "Gnatrol" and water your plants with a solution of it to kill its larvae: it's not something I'd like to have around my houseplants.
I am just another white boy who thinks he can play the Blues.
