I decided to do these from seed this year. They are the white with pink eye variety, my husband's favorite periqinkle Started out with about 40 seedlings and ended up with 30 viable starts. When they were only 2" tall, I started acclimating them to the outdoors in little pots, in a bright but shady spot on a ledge under my roog overhand. Slowly I moved them to dappled sun of the front of that ledgge. Today, at 4-5" tall, I planted them out in their final destination on my rear driveway in large pots in dappled sun mid-day, full sun on the 2 pots at each end of the row for an hour or so in the AM and again in the PM. May have to play musical pots to get the center pots some full sun once in awhile. Smiling

I moved the periwinkle to the other side of the back driveway that gets more sun and they seem much happier with more sun. It's not constant, but intermittent throughout the day. They almost doubled in size in a week.

Wonderful! Those pots are great, look good along that fence.

Thank you, Tiffany. It's a generally shady back yard but they will get a little more sun there.

Well most of my scads of periwinkle seedlings are getting on up to mature size now, with two having bloomed this week! Proud of my babies! Don't think I've ever grown blooming seedlings before that actually made it to blooming. Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

Thank you, Tiffany and Steven. There is something very satisfying to go from seed, to wispy/flimsy seedlings, to hardening off, to final planting out, watching them grow and finally getting your first blooms. Same satisfaction I always got when I completed a leaded glass project
