Derylin, do you ever attend the Regional meetings?

I had planned on going to the Regionals for KY and TN but they have been cancelled again Angry this year.

This might be a good place to ask... does anyone ever soak the bottom of the rhizomes if they want to hold off planting a week? Or is that a total no no. Mine arrived pretty crispy. We should have our bed done by the weekend. I have to haul some Western mix to make it raised. I lost a lot this year to the deluge of rain we have had.

For one reason or another, my new rhizomes usually sit around for a month in bags before I get around to planting them. At that point, they are pretty crispy, but I have found that soaking them for a while - maybe an hour or so - right before they're planted seems to make them root faster. Keeping your new rhizomes out of the ground for just a week and then soaking them right before you plant them should work fine. Iris are tough!

That's wonderful since I haven't even opened my box yet.

I'm waiting to find out when we can go onto the property. Crossing Fingers!

Teresa ,no I haven't.
Next year ,though,I might be interested if they have it.If you have any information next year ,please share it with me when the time comes.

I always soak my Rhizomes for a day or overnight at least when I receive them.
I think it helps the roots perk up a little.
Sometimes they are very crispy.
