I just got a new African Violet it was in bad shape at the store. I sometimes rehabilitate plants, but I have no African Violet experience.

The leaves had gotten wet at the store. I didn't like how big they were and how they looked, so I clipped them off. Will they grow back? Do you think it was okay to clip the stem back past the leaves. Should clip it further?

What is the likelihood my African Violet will thrive? I read that Saintpaulia African Violets bloom all year. Is this true?

What do you think of the container it came with?

Is Saintpaulia a miniature or a medium African Violet?

One of the leaves is split. I didn't want to take off all the leaves. What do you think of how it is split? I got it for 2.99.

Thanks

Hi Gerris,

It grew nicely. It straightened out. I joined an online African Violet Society and it said it is okay to cut the foliage. It grows fast. Unfortunately, I did not take a pic of it while it was in bloom, but it looked quite nice when it was and the leaves have grown in. Thanks for asking. 🙂

I'm happy it was a happy ending to the story.
