My husband bought this for me at a garage sale. I love it, any ideas of how I could fill in the missing pieces or redo the ball so it looks similar?

Thank you for any ideas 💡

That is pretty! I'm not sure what the pieces are made of. If it's some type of glass maybe you can take it to a local stained glass studio to see if they have the same or a similar glass. If not, maybe take the pieces from what would be the bottom, and therefore not seen, and placing them on the observed sides. I think you have a very pretty piece. Nice buy!

I like the look of the uneven tile coverage. Perhaps you could daub the area where the tiles are missing with a metallic brown/bronze acrylic (or any color you want to pick up) to create a subtle antique-y background to set off the tiles.

The ball is interesting. Looks like a rusted antique disco ball!

Nice mosaicked ball! You can scrape off the grout where there are missing pieces, and glue some new glass, rocks, pennies, or whatever you want on it. Then get some thinset that closely matches what was there. Remaking the grout will be easy. You can have it all refurbished and proudly sitting in your yard.
