This is my first ever banner, so I appreciate the feed-back.

Full image:

Mine grow to 90 - 100 cm in height (around 3 ft.)

I can't tell you the name of the pinkish purple cultivar in front, because they got mixed up when we moved a couple of years ago, but the dark red one in the background is Papaver ori. 'Royal Chocolate Distinction'.

Kristi, I think what you are referring to is a dried up sepal - the buds on Oriental poppies are very fuzzy:

Congratulations on your first banner, Lilli! I missed it when it was being displayed, but it looks like it was a good one! Bright and in-focus. The original image was perfectly aligned to allow you a simple cropping above and below. You can also tilt images that aren't perfectly aligned to capture the best part for a banner. It is fun and a challenge to get a good banner. Looking forward to more banners from you!
