My indian rope plant got mealies while I was on vacation. Two of my vines (stems) are 6 to 7' long and there not the only two vines. How in the world do I clean all those curled and furled leaves with a Qtip????? I can't even get inside some of them with one! Is there a better way?? It's from a long gone friend and I so hate to lose this plant.
Please, suggestions????

Any pest problem on an Indian Rope Hoya is hard to control because of those tight leaves. Use Insecticidal Soap or alcohol in a spray bottle, spray it thoroughly and rinse well.

Then add something with Dinotefuran in it (I use Ortho Tree and Shrub Insect Control Granules). Dinotefuran is a systemic (so if you have munchy kitties, don't use it) and the ONLY pesticide that will kill scale type insects.

It's been a long time since I've been on here.😕. The 6-7' long Indian Rope I had died from those dratted mealies. It had bloomed one time. I did cut one end off and swished it around in my bottle insecticide, twice. When I was sure the posts were gone I rooted it and look!! My cutting bloomed now. I'm just so happy I had to show and tell. What a save.
