Well, I don't have too many roses opening up just yet, but I have lots of fat swollen buds, so here's a start with only a few (more to be added next week undoubtedly).

No ID Pink EDIT - After some poking around, I found that it had a Kordes tag, so I went to their website (http://www.gartenrosen.de/kord...) and figure that this is "Hot Kiss"

Another Perfume Tiger is opening. All 4 survived the winter, and they're supposed to be a zone 7 rose.

Awesome collection, Toni!
Those Perfume Tigers are gorgeous. Where did you get them?
Did you mulch them heavily, or does the snow do that for you? Thumbs up

Cindi - Every rose is under at least 2-4" of mulch, some are under 6". They have to be to survive the winters here. I got 4 Perfume Tigers from Home Depot last year and every one survived, considering that they're supposed to be zone 7 roses. But most of my roses are zone 7s. Big Grin That's why the tons & tons of mulch. I'll put up with the centipedes if my roses survive.

The tree grinding company dumped several truck loads of mulch at our place this year so hopefully this winter I'll get busy mulching before it gets too cold. Last winter was the coldest in 50 years and I lost fewer roses than the past 3 years, so part of it has to do with the age of the rose, I think. I didn't mulch and we didn't have snow. Maybe I killed off all the weaklings in prior years and now I just have tough ones?

Cindi - I found that to be the case with me too! LOL! The weak ones don't survive and the strong do. For instance, my Oranges & Lemons, JFK, & Mardi Gras are my original roses from '08 (when I started to plant roses). They've survived 3 winters, 2 w/o a lot of mulch & 1 w/o any mulch. George Burns, from the same time period, didn't. So I guess he got weeded out as being a weak rose. I put Judy Garland in his spot and have been very happy! She survived! But I also like having the 5 hundred tons of mulch as keeps down the weeds (mostly) too.

I wish tree-trimming companies would do that here.. I'd still have to pay for mulch AND delivery from them. Sad
