About five of them were crawling around on my hardy Hibiscus... satisfying their enormous appetite with MY PLANT !!!
Being me, I thought, "I'll just reach in and grab them and throw them somewhere"... under the wheels of a passing car crossed my mind.

THAT WAS A SERIOUS MISTAKE !!!

Grabbing strange insects has definitely been crossed off my list... other methods will have to be found.

This is Automeris io [the Io Moth Caterpillar]... and it stings when grabbed... and the sting feels like electricity coursing through your fingers.

This is a lesson I'm sorry I had to learn the hard way.
